Staff is friendly, food is pretty good:) Sunday brunch is nice! Decor is a lil cheesy, but overall it's a good place:) There are other locations and I'd say the same for all!

The service was excellent. Held my meeting there and was accommodated beyond expectation. The food was attractive and delicious. Pricing is very reasonable. The restaurant is lovely. I will definitely use them again!

Last night we stopped by Minervas for our date night. After we ordered our dinner, we were to that there was no bread left, and they were unable to cook more. Total bummer, but Whatever. We ordered an appetizer that had bread, so I am still puzzled as to how they were out. I ordered Steak Campenelli, my husband ordered a burger with cheese and bacon. Our plates arrived so hot to the touch, it was obvious they were under lamps for a really long time. The steak on my pasta was a grey color, rubbery, and flavorless. My husbands burger was old, and missing the bacon. They were limited on desserts as well - we heard them telling another table. They were shutting off lights all around us - we paid over 70.00 for this meal. If they have a limited menu on Sunday's, they should state that. Or comp something for what they are lacking. So disappointed. We won't be back.

I used to love going here when my son worked there as a bus boy. Then one evening one of the wait staff who was pregnant and emotional started screaming at the top of her lungs at my son for no apparent reason other than her huge belly situation. She ended up physically pushing and hitting him. When he reported it to his manager (the other waitresses best friend apparently), the manager told him to shut his mouth and then fired him. Many people in the restaraunt observed this behaivior and it was reported to the general manager at the corporate location who promtply ignored it. Will never eat there again since they have no respect for thier staff. PS. This was not the first issue, many of thier staff were fired or quit around the same time period. Companies who treat thier staff like crap in turn treat thier customers the same way when push comes to shove.

I've been eating here for years with consistently good food. I would recommend this place for everything. I typically eat the dinner menu but do my best to get there when I can for lunch. And don't get me started about the cinnamon rolls they have for the sunday brunch!

We went to Minervas for happy hour and were very disappointed in how we were treated. One of the members of our party is in a wheelchair and in the bar area there is only high top tables and booths, neither of which could accommodate him. The waitress said there was no way she could accommodate us for the happy hour specials. The manager hesitantly seated us in the dining room and let us order from the happy hour menu.

This place is awful. They have a terrible beer selection and their cocktails taste very watered down. They do nothing well in the food department either. The food tastes like a frozen meal that sat under a heat lamp. The only upside to this place is that the servers are good efficient and friendly.

Minervas is kind of an inbetween restaurant. It has elements of finer dining, but also has a sports bar area as well. The food reflects this, offering steaks and higher priced meals, while also serving sandwiches and burgers. They have a full bar available as well. The atmosphere in Minervas allows for you to dress up to impress that date, or you can come in casual attire. Service is usually excellent, and there is outdoor seating available if the weather allows. Pretty good variety and overall a really nice restaurant. Best tiramisu in the world (probably an exaggeration, but I love it). more at siouxcityreviews.wordpre…

Took my wife there for our wedding anniversary and requested my filet be butterflied and cooked medium well. The steak was brought out, not fileted and rare. When it was sent back to be prepared properly, the Chef refused my request. Not even the dining room manager was able to change his mind. Head management made no sincere effort to rectify this problem or contact me after sending them an email about the Chef. Total bust of of a special occasion with my wife.

For Sioux City this is one of the best bets for eating out. The food and service have always been good. They have a diverse menu that isn't full of junk like the majority of the places in sux.

This is an upscale, Italian restaurant that doesn't have a dress code! Sometimes you just want to enjoy a delicious meal without having to get all dolled up; this is the place! There's a happy hour menu & there's early bird specials which are completely different. All of us tried the early bird special for $13 each which comes with a house salad, entree & dessert. The specials change but I'm not sure how often, whether daily or weekly, & there's five or six entrees to choose from. One of the early bird specials was the penne pasta with grilled shrimp & it was so good but it lacked a satisfying amount of shrimp. I think there was a total of four but otherwise the dish was superb! I've also tried the classic reuben from the regular menu & that is very delicious & filling as well. Our waitress wasn't friendly but she wasn't rude either; she was attentive. Even though there's plenty of seating arrive early to avoid a 30-45 minute wait. I love the ambiance & every time I've eaten here I've been happy with the quality & quantity of their food.

I just moved to the area and haven't tried many places , but i had a good first experience, i had lobster bacon mac n cheese and lots of fun appetizers, i was surprised to learn this was a chain, usually when that happens things go down hill quick, but i thought the menu was good and the ingredients were surprising for the area (i am under the impression that vegetables don't exist here) and i have lived here for a month and seen the vegetarian shock look like 4 times, so i dont think im that far off (im not vegetarian but situations have led me to these moments) overall good good service lacked a little but i think there was only one server in the whole restaurant so i forgive her and blame management, she was lovely

Service was terrible and rude. We arrived at Minerva's at 10 min until 5 because the reservations were at 5.When we arrived and I asked for a table for four the short bald man was very rude and stated "Yeah that's fine when we open at 5 ". He said it with a dirty disrespectful look on his face. we c waited until everything was set up and at 503 we sat down outside. They took our drink orders. When she came back out with our drinks we ordered. My friend ordered the salad bar. The server than states " u can get your salad bar at 5" . At this point I checked the time and it was 515. The worst part is that the short bald manager was on the patio watching a customer being harassed while she was eating dinner. This man came up and was putting his hands all over the customer and he just watched it all go down. We finally realized the manager wasn't doing anything about. Finally, the guy left because he realized he was making a scene and several people were staring at him. The food was good. The service was terrible except the water boy.

There is a pretty decent place for food in the area. The service was superb and the food was very good...somewhere between 3 and 3.5 stars. This is more like an upscale perkins or black eye peas. It doesn't really have the identity as cajun or italian. It all depends on what you order. We had good appitizers in the sampler. The tuna was also decent. I had a new orlean ribeye. The ribeye had very good texture. The taste, unfortunately was covered by the sauce. The steak might have been better if I ordered it without the sauce or if it was dry rubbed. The dessert was also worth ordering. They were good. The house wine was cheap and it showed. The house cab we ordred was closer to water than cab. So, I wouldn't suggest getting that unless that's your thing. My ratings are normally 90% on the food only, so for a good night out in a classy place, this would be excellent (4 stars).

Great upscale restaurant for Sioux City! I'm a big fan of the Stawberry Lemonini (martini) and their appetizers! Great onion rings, coconut shrimp, and flat bread pizzas! Service is great-- I especially like the slow, casual atmosphere. Your food isn't shoved in your face before you're done with your salad, etc. They take their time and serve you one course at a time. Also must have the red velvet cupcake for dessert! :)

I was in town with colleagues for 9 days (October 18-27). I agree with Sarah, the menu did seem more Italian than Cajun or Creole. That said, they do offer a good variety of options. The meal I had was good, and decor & service were up to snuff. Nothing truly unique here like El Fredo's Pizza, but definitely good food that is worth a visit.

As far as being one of the "finer dining" restaurants in Sioux City, IA, I highly doubt it. The only thing that shouts "fine dining" is the prices, and the food is definitely NOT worth it. I give this place 1 star for having an awesome server. She was so nice and on top of things. Now... 1. The wine menu is sparse. I ordered a glass of J. Lohr cab..I think the only other option for a glass of wine was a house wine...my b/f got the house wine, and there was a significant difference. Glad I went w/ the J. Lohr. 2. Appetizer: Pacific Rim Ahi Tuna ($12). Wow. Terrible. The color was gray w/ an ever-so-slight pink middle. My b/f and I tried to be polite and each took a bite. However, we just couldn't stomach it and sent it back. The server offered a new one, but by this time our salads had already arrived, so we declined. 3. Entrees: I ordered the Seafood Risotto and the b/f had a steak of some sort...a ribeye maybe? For my side salad, I ordered something off of there promotional menu (something southern I believe). It was pretty good, except it was drenched in dressing. My b/f had the house italian salad and said that mine was better. The Seafood Risotto was very blah. The risotto was cooked fine, however the seafood was very iffy. Half of it tasted fine and the other half tasted a bit fishy for my liking... My b/f's steak was nothing to boast about and came out closer to well done than medium rare. 4. Now, here comes the biggie as to why I will NEVER go back here again. Upon receiving the bill, our server informed us that, "oh, btw you were charged for half of the appetizer since you ate half of it." WTF?! We couldn't believe it. Apparently, taking two bites of something is eating half. Wow, I only wish I would've taken a photo of this absurdity. Better yet, next time I'll just regurgitate my bite onto the plate...oh wait, there won't be a next time. Noticing the shock in our eyes, our server (obviously feeling bad) said she'd get the manager if we wanted. We were so angry that we declined (regretting that decision immediately after leaving), still tipped the server generously and left. Way to look cheap Minervas. My advice: get new management. The current is cheap and allows poor servers to break bad news to customers, when it should be YOU coming out to apologize and fix the situation...

First off, I would not categorize Minerva's as Cajun or Creole. I would call it Italian, so someone is confused. Minerva's is upscale as far as Sioux City is concerned. It is one of the nicest in the area. There are special menu items (like lobster ravioli and roasted potato pizza) and traditional steak and other meat items. As far as I can remember, they have never messed up my request for "no meat of any kind" when I order, and the wait staff can usually suggest something vegetarian for me. It is always tasty and the desserts are good as well. Service is also good at this restaurant. We've never had reason to complain.

Two stars earned for the sole fact that the bar is a good place for happy hour. Good prices on decent munchies with a solid beer and mixed drinks selection. I've hit them twice for supper and once for lunch and the food is typical suburban chain meh. A good and inexpensive kid's menu doesn't make up for the rubbish for the rest of us. Let's face it, good food in the Siouxland is hard to come by.

We had a delicious lunch at Minerva's yesterday. There were five of us and each had something different and we loved everything we ordered. I had the salmon salad and I hope that I can recreate it at home. DELICIOUS!!!! Our lovely waitress suggested the red velvet cake and we also chose the tirimisu and they were both to die for. I look forward to eating here again. It was wonderful to have such great service!! and great food!!! as so many times I am disappointed when I go out.
